Happy New Year, Lovelies!

2013 has started off with something super fun. I’m featured in this months issue of Plus Model Magazine! PMM asked five bloggers to share their fall/winter style… mine was color.

This was also one of the last photo shoots I did with my natural hair out of braids, I had just gotten a cut/flat iron. I’m so happy with how healthy it is right now.

Coincidentally, as you flip through this months issue, you’ll notice that the Rachel Pally dress I’m wearing is featured in another spread worn by the fabulous +size model, Marquita Pring. At first I kind of panicked at the idea of being compared to a +size model in the same dress, but then I reminded myself that when it comes to +size fashion, our different body shapes can make outfits look completely different from one Plus Size Princess to another. So, here’s a chance for you guys to see the same dress on two very different bodies.

The fact that we’re both rocking the same dress goes to show that it’s always good to try things on even if you think it might not work for you… you never know!

Update: Here’s the segment!

I’m so tired of people assuming that if you’re overweight, you can’t move or exercise. I’m in the gym 3-4 times a week and I know a lot of other Plus Size Princesses are too, so lets meet up and do a high intensity workout together My next FREE event, “Cardio & Curvy Conversations” is happening on Saturday, October 27th from 2-4pm at New York Sports Club!

This event is open to TBGB readers of all sizes (yes, skinnies too), so feel free to sign up! We will do a 1 hour workout with my favorite trainer, Anthony Truly, followed by an interactive chat on fitness, weight loss and of course, dating.

Happy Friday!

I just wanted to update you guys on a few things:

1.) I’ve been getting a few notes that I only do giveaways on Twitter and never on facebook. I’ve heard your requests and I’m cooking up a facebook giveaway for you as we speak! Hey Lovelies,

I wanted you guys to be the first to know that I’ve been asked to walk in a fashion show during the BlogHer ’12 conference next week.

I’m so excited… I’m so SCARED!

This event has been pretty hush, hush but last night I got permission to share the info with my Plus Size Princesses. The bloggers that they’ve asked to do it are all phenomenal women, so I’m honored to be in such good company.

The show will feature selections from 6pm.com and Elizabeth Arden will be taking care of our faces. Most importantly, we will be styled by the ever so fabulous Kathryn Finney! A full write up of the fashion show can be found here.

For those of you who have been asking for photos of me… I’ll be sure to take some during the show.

I’m not quite sure how to say this, so I’ll just start:

I’ve been getting a lot of emails and comments about the content of TBGB. Some people want to hear more about my general life in New York City, some people only want to see posts about being a big girl. Some people are nice, some not so nice.

You all know so much about me from this blog, but there’s a lot that I haven’t shared… I would like to share more of myself with you because you all share so much with me in your comments, tweets and emails.

Yes, I am a Plus Size Princess, but I also live in New York City (the most exciting city ever!) and have lots of cool experiences that have nothing to do with my weight. Moving forward, I plan on writing about some of those experiences because, in my opinion, that proves that you can live life 110% to the fullest at any size.

I just hope me sharing more of my life/thoughts doesn’t turn anyone away.
